The Life of Felicia Gorski

Created by Leslie 11 years ago
Felicia was born in Olongapo City in the Philippines on November 10, 1955. She is the third child of Felizardo and Leonarda Arellano. As a child she was always very helpful to her mother and family and served as a mother figure to her younger siblings. At the age of eighteen, she was diagnosed with a rheumatic heart condition and was not expected to survive long past the age of nineteen. She then married Don Shortridge in July of 1976. In October of that year, she was medically evacuated from the Philippines to Balboa Hospital in San Diego for immediate heart surgery. In 1982, she gave birth to her first child Donna Lynn and was well on her way to living a normal and healthy life. In 1988, Felicia was pregnant with her second child. Unfortunately she suffered a heart attack during her pregnancy, and her second daughter Amanda Felicidad Keller was stillborn in January of that year. In 1989, Felicia and Don divorced. Felicia remained in San Diego, where in 1992, she met and fell in love with Aaron Gorski. In 1993, she gave birth to Rachel Elizabeth, and Felicia and Aaron tied the knot the following year. Since then they have lived in San Diego and raised Donna and Rachel. Felicia has undergone six open heart surgeries and many months and years of recovery. She was blessed with being able to see her daughter Donna get married to Justin Davis in July of 2006. In December of 2010, she welcomed her first grandchild, Jaelyn Kiera Davis, to the world. Eighteen months later, she was there for the birth of her second granddaughter, Kristianna Marie Davis. With her blessings, her youngest daughter Rachel married David Lindmeier in 2012. Felicia passed away on November 9, 2012. She was preceded in death by her daughter Amanda, her parents and two siblings that died in infancy. Felicia is survived by her husband Aaron Gorski; her children Donna and Justin Davis and Rachel and David Lindmeier; her grandchildren Jaelyn and Kristianna; sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles; and many friends. Felicia, who was known by her family and close friends as "Baby" or "Bhe," will be missed and loved always.
